fourth monthly luncheon of the Southern Automotive Media
Association, hosted by Hyundai Motor America, was held on
June 21 at the beautiful new Christabelle’s Quarter in
Coconut Grove, a replica of a turn of the century New
Orleans French Quarter bistro that John El Masry has spent
five years and millions of dollars in creating this dining
about 35 people in attendance, a record crowd so far and
quite remarkable considering there where quite a few members
away on travel for several other automotive-related events.
Hors d’eouvres and drinks were offered at the outset,
followed by words from SAMA president Ron Beasley, and then,
of course, a delicious, scrumptious lunch.
Due to the long -- and yes, I mean
almost-reached-happy-hour-long lunch -- Mr. Chris Hosford,
the vice president of communications for Hyundai Motor
America, did not make a formal slide-show presentation,
instead opting to visit with each table and field questions
about the company’s new Veracruz SUV and Hyundai in
general. There were two of the new Veracruz vehicles
available for viewing, positioned immediately in front of
the restaurant during the event.
This month’s luncheon also welcomed a VIP guest, Mr. Ed Williamson, the owner of Miami-Dade’s established new car
franchise, Williamson Cadillac, who said he would enjoy
hosting a future SAMA event in his new showroom facility at
South Dixie Highway and 104th Street.

complete the application and join! You will recoup the cost
of the membership after the second lunch; otherwise, each
lunch you attend will cost $25.00 for non-members.
