SAMA's March 2018 Luncheon - Sponsored by 2019 Toyota Avalon at the Fort Lauderdale Auto Show - Broward Convention Center

 

In what has become an annual tradition, Toyota Motor Sales once again sponsored SAMA’s March luncheon Thursday, March 29, in conjunction with the Fort Lauderdale Auto Show.

Lauren Fyke of Southeast Toyota Distributors welcomed about 40 members and guests tothe Broward County Convention Center, Javelyn Arvay re-emphasized how important the South Florida market is to Toyota and that for a sixth consecutive year is America’s favorite brand, and Tomas Hoang previewed the new 2019 Toyota Avalon with its multitude of safety and technological features.

With SAMA President Jaime Florez away at the New York show, Vice President Paul Borden conducted a brief business sessions, reminding members to pay their 2018 dues ($100 for individual press) and to check the membership list on the website (www.samaonline.org) to make sure their information is correct. Checks for dues and updates to the membership list may be sent to Marcello Serrato at Prestige.

Bill Adam reported that although details for the Rides & Smiles are still in flux, plans are going forward for the annual car show at the Homestead Air Reserve Base the second weekend of November. This event continues to expand and is very popular with base personnel. Bill said with relaxed restrictions at the base, we can bring 100 cars for display, including new vehicles, retro rods, and vintage and classic cars.

Anyone participating in next month’s Florida Car Marathon that members Daniel Alvarez and Daniel Romagnoli devote so many hours to who would like to display their car at SAMA’s “Salute to the Military” should contact Bill for details.

Paul also announced the date for the annual Topless in Miami Presented by Haartz will be May 31 at the usual location, the Ritz-Carlton Resort Key Biscayne.
