SUBARU SHOWS NEW IMPREZA


Subaru took time out during auto show week to invite SAMA members to a luncheon at Smith & Wollensky's featuring a preview of its new Impreza.

The 2012 model is the fourth generation of the car that comes in both four-door sedan and five-back hatchback form.

It is built on a slightly longer wheelbase and has more interior space, but with shorter overhangs it bears the same footprint as the previous model.

Trunk and cargo room also has been increased.

The new 2.0-liter Boxer engine delivers mileage figure of 27 mpg city, 36 highway, a 30-percent increase over the previous model. It is the most fuel-efficient all-wheel-drive passenger car in America.

A five-speed manual or a new CVT that is lighter and smoother than previous generations are offered.
